Old school weekend starts on Friday. It will switch Gears 2 back to Gears 1 style; 4v4 matches with Smoke Grenades that don’t stun. These changes affect the Execution – Warzone, Annex – KOTH, and Guardian – Submission playlists only, and remember—these are Gears 1 rules. Only four to a team! This is what Joe Graf said about it:

it isnt gears 1.. you are playing gears 2.. the rules are what it was like in gears 1.. such as the no smokes with the concus.. and 4v4 instead of 5v5

wow i wish they would leave it like this. the shotgun shoots faster the smoke grenades just stun you not throw you down. And the connection and graphics lag is fixed almost entirely. They should do this every weekend like halo does double xp weekend.
